JSW Group and China's SAIC Motor are in discussions for the next round of capital support for JSW MG Motor India, aiming to expand manufacturing capacity beyond 220,000 units annually to an ambitious one million vehicles and broaden its new-energy vehicle (NEV) portfolio.
JSW MG Motor India has unveiled ADAPT, India's first multi-powertrain new energy vehicle (NEV) platform, designed to support electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and range-extender electric vehicles. The company plans to launch one electric SUV and one plug-in hybrid SUV based on this architecture during FY27, aiming to broaden its NEV portfolio and accelerate adoption in India.

Automaker MG Motor India on Monday said it has partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) to bolster EV charging infrastructure across the country. The partnership with BPCL will add momentum to EV adoption by expanding opportunities for intercity travel as the two entities will install EV chargers across highways and within cities, the automaker said in a statement. With BPCL's vast customer reach and operations and MG's strides in the EV space, the two entities can combine expertise to strategically identify charging sites, garner consumer insights, devise loyalty programs, and create technology to manage charging systems, it added.

The all-new ZS EV will be available in two variants -- Excite and Exclusive, priced at Rs 21.99 lakh and Rs 25.88 lakh, respectively. The company said it has initiated bookings for the Exclusive variant, while bookings for the Excite trim will commence from July 2022. The model comes with the largest in-segment 50.3-kWh (kilowatt-hour) battery with advanced technology, offering a 461-km certified range in a single charge.
